JOSAA counseling is the central online process through which seats are offered in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs after JEE Main and JEE Advanced. What JOSAA counseling actually does

JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) runs a single platform where you register, pay fees where applicable, fill and reorder your preference list, and then participate in multiple rounds of seat allocation. Your final allotment depends on your rank, category, gender, home state rules (where relevant), available seats, and—critically—the order in which you list programs.
